I would like to share some helpful tips on how to create a beautiful but stress free pallet picnic. You guys already know I'm gonna say plan 6 to 8 weeks out if you truly know me...LOL! Maybe you're a person that can handle getting it all done at the last minute but I'm not.
Here are the following things I would take into consideration when planning:
1. Check the date, make sure there aren't any major events going on in your city that may cause a conflict with your scheduled time.
2. Check the weather even though this is unpredictable, make sure to have a plan b. If it does rain just add plastic to the ground before adding your blankets and pillows.
3. Come up with a theme, personalize stationary and include personalized keepsakes for your guest.
4. Come up with a menu and don't forget that the event is outside. If you are traveling beyond your backyard don't forget the cooler.
5. Presentation is EVERYTHING! This is a pet peeve of mine so I had to add it. Always choose glass and fresh flowers over FAKE. It's downright tacky unless you are hosting this for little ones then I completely understand.
6. Make sure you visit your local thrift stores, yard sales, friends and family houses that may have old pillows and blankets you can wash and use for seating.
7. Pallet knowledge is very important. Make sure you pick up pallets that aren't used to transport meat. Make sure you choose clean pallets, wash them and allow them to lay in the sun to kill any bacterial.
8. Make friends with someone with a truck or SUV. Make them a plate and don't forget to say "thank you" .
